Position Profile: The Maintenance Technician inspects, tests, repairs, or maintains equipment in generating stations, substations, and in-service relays.

Essential Functions: This is a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities, and is not all inclusive. Incumbent(s) may and may be required to perform additional, position-specific tasks.

  • Inspect and test equipment to identify malfunctions or defects.

  • Consult manuals, schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering personnel in order to troubleshoot and solve equipment problems and to determine optimum equipment functioning.

  • Prepare and maintain records detailing tests, repairs, and maintenance.

  • Analyze test data in order to diagnose malfunctions, to determine performance characteristics of systems, and to evaluate effects of system modifications.

  • Repair, replace, and clean equipment and components

  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to work various shifts that support a 24/7 operation

  • Must be able to learn and follow company procedures and work instructions.

  • Maintains a safe and organized workstation and follows all company policy, safety and procedures.


Production and Processing — Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.

Operation and Control — Controlling operations of equipment or systems.

Operation Monitoring — Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.

Quality Control Analysis — Conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance.

Reading Comprehension — Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.

Critical Thinking — Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.

Speaking — Talking to others to convey information effectively.

Troubleshooting — Determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it.

Basic functions of Microsoft Office Suite.

Ability to operate a forklift and man lift to O.S.H.A approved standards.

Physical Demands:

  • Continuously required to wear common Protective or Safety Equipment such as Safety Shoes, Glasses, Gloves, Hearing Protection, Hard Hats.

  • Continuously required to stand; walk; use hands to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.

  • Frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

  • Frequently required lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

  • Occasionally required to sit.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Work Location/Environmental Requirements: Nickel and titanium manufacturing facility. Exposure to: moving mechanical parts; wet and/or humid conditions; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme cold, extreme heat, vibration; loud noise level.

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Maintenance

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working in at least one of these specialty areas (Controls/Electronics, Electrician, Hydraulics, Welding or Facilities/General Maintenance)

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED from an accredited institution

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience working in at least one of these specialty areas; hydraulics, CNC mechanic, welding, or facilities/general maintenance

  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S> person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S> Permanent Resident (i.e. ‘Green Card Holder’), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
